Siebe Pogson
Bassist l Composer l Sydney
Siebe Pogson is a Sydney-based musician recognised for his breadth as a bassist, accompanist, composer and educator. Active across jazz, funk, pop and classical contexts, he is a well-regarded contributor to Sydney’s music community, both as a performer and educator.

After early training with Kevin Hunt, Saul Richardson, Gerard Willems and Steve Hunter, Siebe went on to study with Victor Wooten and Anthony Wellington, later completing a Master’s in Jazz Performance at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona with saxophonist William McHenry. His approach reflects this diverse grounding: technically assured, stylistically flexible, and open to collaboration.

Siebe’s original projects include Funk Engine, a long-running jazz-funk group known for its energetic interplay, and The SP7, his septet combining jazz with influences from soul, Motown and Spanish music. He also plays bass in PLENTY, a funk/synth-pop outfit, and has performed for nearly a decade with The Ryan Thomas Duo. Beyond these, he has contributed compositions to Elysian Fields, an ensemble blending jazz, baroque, and folk traditions.
